What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
Website visitors who sign up to receive our newsletter voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information for the specific, limited purpose of electronic and/or printed distribution of our newsletter and other fundraising outreach. You may always opt out, either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive these mailings by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Website visitors who donate electronically through our website are sent via a link to PayPal. When a donation is made, SOLA collects, from PayPal, a donor’s name, billing address, email address, and certain financial details of the transaction (amount of donation, etc.) We retain this data on our servers unless and until a donor requests its removal. If you have made or will make a donation to SOLA, and wish to have your personal information deleted from our records, please inform us by sending an email to email@example.com
What Non-Personally Identifiable Information is Collected
Like most websites, SOLA collects certain non-personally identifiable technical information when you visit our website, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, and date/time stamp. This information is stored for a period of 26 months before deletion. We collect this information to help diagnose problems with our server, prevent fraud and abuse, and to compile statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.
