Get Involved!

There are many ways to support SOLA's mission and Afghanistan's new leadership generation.
Being a SOLA volunteer means lending your time, energy, and expertise to help SOLA students achieve their dreams. Volunteers are an integral part of SOLA.

To learn more, read on or email us at info [at] sola-afghanistan.org.

Donate
With your support—through a one-time donation or an ongoing monthly contribution—you will directly impact the lives of young Afghans and support change.

Host a student
Consider opening your home and family circle to a SOLA girl in school abroad. Help us support our students as they step towards their future by providing them a home away from home! SOLA relies on dedicated and carefully screened host families for students studying abroad, in addition to a guardian.

Anchor an event
Reach out to your local community! Gather your friends, family and colleagues for a few hours to talk about what can be done to raise awareness and support for educating Afghan girls in your area.
We will help by contacting our existing supporters in your area--maybe even arrange for a SOLA student to join you, in person or via Skype!

Volunteer
SOLA is always looking for talented volunteers—teachers, tutors, mentors, academic advisors, reading partners—who would like to contribute their skills either in Kabul, through online exchanges, or at various locations near our student schools abroad.

Teach
SOLA relies heavily on volunteer teachers who commit to regular teaching schedules or to a specific period of time at SOLA House.

E-mentor
SOLA has an ever-expanding network of e-mentors, based in the USA, the UK and elsewhere, who commit to interacting regularly with one or several SOLA students.

Share our story
Write a blog about SOLA, connect us with your local paper, become a fan on Facebook, support us on LinkedIn, or arrange a talk by a SOLA scholar at your local school. We’d love to hear from you and hope you’ll spread the word!

Offer scholarships
SOLA has connections with quality schools, colleges, and universities in the USA, UK, Japan, Germany, the Middle East and the Gulf. If your school is interested in joining the expanding network of SOLA partner schools by hosting a future Afghan leader, please let us know.

Video-conference with schools
Global Citizens in Action offers schools in the U.S. a dynamic educational and collaborative platform to engage in dialogue and learning on topics of cultural exchange, media literacy and civic engagement with schools in Kabul. GCA is a unique opportunity for your students to engage with peers from Afghanistan about global issues.

Support an intern
Do you own a business in Kabul? Work for an international organization in Afghanistan? Have connections in the Middle East? Run a medical surgery in the USA? Our students are always looking for opportunities to spend a summer learning new skills.

Raise funds
You do not need to live in Afghanistan to contribute to SOLA! SOLA volunteers across the world successfully raise funds on SOLA's behalf.

If you have other ideas about how you could best support our work, please email us at:
