Introducing SOLAx.

Today, Women’s History Month begins. Today we honor and celebrate the achievements of women worldwide. And today in Afghanistan, women are forbidden from attending college and girls are forbidden from attending school.

I see the bravery of the Afghan women and girls who fight for their rights. I see the darkness and the hope that burns like fire. At SOLA, we believe that girls’ education is the lever that lifts society to a better place. It’s at the heart of what we do on campus in Rwanda, and soon, what we’ll do digitally.

Introducing: SOLAx.

SOLAx is a WhatsApp-based online academy that can be joined by any Afghan girl, anywhere on Earth. Students will be able to access daily classwork in three languages (English, Pashto, and Dari) by texting the SOLAx chatbot on WhatsApp, and they’ll only need a mobile phone and a basic cellular connection to participate.

SOLAx is coming this month. There will be much more to share in the weeks ahead, and you’re invited to join our SOLAx channel on WhatsApp, where we’ll be posting regular updates.
