Host an Afghan Student
|
SOLA relies on dedicated and carefully screened host families for SOLA students studying abroad.
Students are integrated into their host families' daily lives, learning from people they — and SOLA — trust and respect. |
All students studying abroad are assigned a guardian to help them navigate their new country and education system, and to provide a home-away-from-home over long weekends or holidays. Where geography allows, guardians naturally evolve from e-mentor relationships. Guardian-student relationships are enriching and create lifelong bonds.

Host families are different...
I have a lot of friends, but a family is different.
With a family nearby, you can:
1) Share what you are doing every day, and ask their ideas
2) Do a lot of fun activities together around the house
3) Ask them about the things that you don’t know
4) Forget to feel homesick a lot
5) Go shopping with them (my favorite activity)
All I can say is, a host family is like a real family to me.
